Haq mehr calculator: Mahr Fatimi and minimum mehr today
Mahr Fatimi and the minimum mehr are usually stated in silver, so their value in rupees changes with the silver price. Type today's silver rate from your local sarafa or a newspaper and the calculator gives both amounts. It runs in your browser.

1 tola = 11.664 grams. Silver rates differ between cities and shops; use the rate you would actually be quoted. Put the agreed amount into column 13 of your English draft.
Where the figures come from
- Mahr Fatimi is the mehr of Hazrat Fatima, commonly given in Pakistan as 500 dirhams, which is stated as 131.25 tola, or about 1,530.9 grams, of silver.
- The minimum mehr in the Hanafi school is 10 dirhams, stated as 2.625 tola, or about 30.6 grams, of silver.
- Other schools and scholars give other figures and weights for the dirham. For a ruling, ask a mufti or scholar you trust. This page is arithmetic, not a fatwa.
Writing the mehr on the Nikah Nama
Column 13 records the total dower, and column 14 splits it into prompt (mu'ajjal) and deferred (ghair mu'ajjal). If the mehr is agreed as "Mahr Fatimi", many families also write the rupee amount or the silver weight next to it, so the figure is clear later. See haq mehr terms in English.
